As one of our first-ever customers (years ago!), we were over the moon when Neen requested a custom straw bag with her beloved cats embroidered!
Previously Neen was thrilled with her Kakatua bag purchase! She took it on holiday and couldn't be happier. She even sent us some pictures showcasing her adventures with the bag. Neen commented about how spacious and durable it is - she's truly in love with it!
And now, she's so delighted that she wants another bag, but this time, she has a special request to make it even more memorable and unique to her.
Based on the information provided, her preferences, and of course knowing Neen has a busy professional life in Dubai with its perpetual summer heat, we decided to use seagrass material because it is lightweight and highly durable. The material is also perfect for making a roomy design big enough to accommodate her needs, such as carrying a laptop comfortably.
And, here are some highlights about the kitties:
Mini, a Himalayan kitty with a heart of white fluff and a touch of mischief in her brown-shaded face.
Then there's Thistle, a handsome fellow with a coat of the softest grey. He's perhaps a bit of a dreamer with a fluffy tail that seems to wag with every thought.
And finally, there's Lily, Thistle's sister, a beauty in pure white. She's a playful spirit with a tail that swishes like a feather duster, always ready for a game of chase.
These three adorable furry babies each have their unique charm, we understand why Neen wanted to capture their essence.

We jotted down all the points and proposed our first draft to Neen, featuring the sight of three precious babies seated together, with one in the centre facing forward to showcase the face, this case we chose Mini's brown fur.
At SE.DU.DO, one of our main challenges with custom orders is finding the perfect balance between highlighting individual personalities and creating a one-of-a-kind creative representation. Also, handmade products have their limitations because it's tricky to replicate the digital effects seen in mass-produced items, which can be easily created by machines.

We offered several sketches and are delighted that Neen selected the one that we also found the cutest! Not showcasing the face, but their tails!
Following some slight modifications, the design was then sent to our artisans. After a week of fibre drying, they weaved it onto a particular mould and then carefully hand-stitched it. We enhanced the product with a protective cotton inner lining to prevent scratching and completed it with a secure drawstring closure.
Overall, the process went very smoothly, with clear and understanding guidance from Neen, which we greatly appreciated.

Thanks loads Neen for the opportunity! What an honour that you love our bags.
We are very lucky to find a client like you all your positive words and especially your energy! ❤️
All the best and may you create many more memories with our bags!
